Description

A very special interplay of oud, patchouli and citrus opens the mysterious-sounding fragrance of Black Oud.

Wrapped in mysticism, deep and bewitching, this is oud essential oil, which, in combination with herbal, earthy patchouli, reigns supreme in the fragrant concert, into which sweetly delicious mandarins enter and play with the depths that rare, agarwood woods show in full force.

Oud is also combined with her majesty, the queen - the rose from Taif, whose nobility and charm represent the softness of velvet, the tenderness of an embrace and a unique beauty. The rose, as if with a light veil, lightens the weight of the oud essential oil and gently lets in a few fresh gusts of musk, which appear only with a fleeting hint in the end, and lets the agarwood reign in all its transformations.

The fresh oud smell sounds almost like hot snow or sweet lemon… This one also has the word “black” in the title, which can mean many things; perhaps also a “dark” scent with heavy ingredients that balances on the edge of wearability. Surrati's Black Oud is damn wearable ... and not just that. It is pleasant and - surprisingly - fresh. Oud is as gentle as it can be; Its decent tone is mainly due to a successful combination of mandarin (and other citrus), musk, rose, green and fresh spices (probably coriander). Black Oud reminds me something of the legendary Cologne 4711, if we can imagine it without her bitter aroma. Compared to the historical composition, however, the Surrati fragrance has two pluses: depth and stamina. It is a pleasant surprise, this Black Oud, which is not "black" at all (25.02.2020 - Petra P.)
